Don't worry Shorefisher. Yeah there will be some short cold spikes in the next couple of weeks. But by the end of the month I expect it will start to warm up. I 'm countin on ice out by 2nd to 3rd week of March. Positive thinking!

I'm hoping for earlier  I'd love to get the first walleye on March 1st.
Just can't wait for the fun to start, first the walleye in the river, then the pike in Anchor Bay and the channels, then the bass .
Meanwhile tomorrow I will be hibernating. Too cold to do anything else. It should be a good day to stay in, pop a roast in the oven and just relax and have some quiet time.

I am at a point right now that all I want is for either ice out to come ...or safe ice to fish again...
this sitting around at home staring at all my fishing tackle is driving me CRAZY!

I think your right BD. Tomorrow I think I'll stoke up the fire place, pull out the cuddle blankets on the couch and see if I can get Mrs WH to join me.

A couple of good cold weeks yet till the end of Feb and some good ice fishing. Then a good thaw and open water after that and everybody will be happy.

Warm weather and stronge east winds would help... don't need anymore rain that pruduces way to much dirty water...........

I don't mind the rain so much, the water will clear up. A couple of my honey holes have gotten pretty shallow, one of them was about 6 inches deep from the last report I heard.
I wouldn't mind seeing Bouvier Beach turn back into Bouvier Bay again.

Sure is gettin cool out there now.. I had ma and pa over for drinks and cards and went out and started their car before they left and froze my teets off in that short time span......
