Here is a recipe I found a couple years ago on a fishing show. It does sound a bit "different" but once you try it don't blame me for your addiction 
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp oil(canola is good)
1 tbsp dill pickle juice
Mix the dry ingredients then add the liquids and blend well. Coat your fillets lightly with flour, then dip in the batter to coat. Pan or deep fry.
Best served with french fries and cole slaw. Don't forget your favorite ice cold beverage.

Yeah but on a Spring break trip to FT. Lauderdale when I was younger I thought the "Coors party Ball" was a beer IV...... How 'bout the blue berry upside down deal migrating over here???

Hey Big Dog, I don't want to sound like a Dolt, but do you mix the oil in with the liquids, or is it for pan frying?  : Thanks! Paul.

Yep mix the oil with the other ingredients, help the batter cling and smooths out the lumps when you blend it together, separate amount if oil needed for frying.
