Well, after a year and a bit, the family has finally decided on a name for our boat, and with that, I'm changin' my handle on Skunked (so my wife will stop teasing me how lame it is, and, I never really liked it in the first place). Creativity has never been my strong suit, and unfortunately, indecision can be!
My new handle and boat name is 'Finaddict' - sure beats WestLorner that I came up with in a hurry a little over a year ago when I couldn't wait to register on skunked.ca
You'll see us down in Port Glasgow - 19' Starcraft Islander with the 2' outboard bracket sporting a 135 Opti

Great choice on the boat. The only thing I will say is that you should a went with the 22.5. That is what I have. I almost went with the 19. What a difference. The 19 is a great vessel.

On the bigger Islander St. Clair Hound, came down to weight - towing the boat with a van, and couldn't afford a new boat and a new truck! All in all, for Erie, it's a great all purpose boat for our family of five.

I had the same situation as yours. Looked at a lot of 21 and 23 ft. boats, but selected a 19.5. My requirement was 80% of towing weight capacity of Jeep and I didn't want to buy a new vehicle.
You will enjoy the Islander, it is a great boat.

3 Boats ago my boat was a 19' Islander with a 3 Litre mercruiser. That was the original "Wayne's World" and I still miss that boat. It now resides in New York state and the new owner is still sending me pics of the fish he catches in Lake Ontario and Lake Champlain.

A good friend has a 19' Islander and that's what I'll be looking for too...when I win the lottery that is.....
