Just wanted to drop a note here to say hello.

For those who dont know me, or haven't seen me since i vanished from the public boards (cept this one, now, and spoonpullers) i'm an avid Lake Ontario fisherman, going for Salmon mostly, Trout, and Walleye come November/December.

We have had a great year on the big pond so far for Salmon, but it has now hit the June slowdown...so you'll see some "other" reports from me.

Can't wait for this upcoming weekend, gonna be our first Muskie outing in quite some time.

Keep posted, you'll see a report some time early next week.

I'll thank you guys/gals in advance for the muskie assistance i've already received.

Take care,
Steve

Hey Steve,

I see you're from Hamilton. I'm going to be there on business for 3 nights in July. Wouldn't mind getting out in the evenings while I'm there (no boat). Any tips on where I might want to try? and for what species?

sure, the best bet, depending on water temps, is to fish around Pier 4 park and Lasalle park (both on Hamilton Bay) for bass and pike...as they can easily be caught from shore.

if you like carp and catfish, a 2nd spot, near the Williams Coffee Pub is very popular for these fish.

if your interested in Salmon/Trout fishing, and the fishing is somewhat decent around then, i can offer to take you out...depending on my committements around that time....

regardless, there is quite a few fishing opportunities in Hamilton around that time.

Hope this helps,

Steve
