Post Rain and Snow - What ? Reply with quote
I was just outside with the dogs and saw something I have never seen before. It is literally raining and snowing at the same time. I can imagine how this may happen with moister falling from different temperatures and perhaps some of the snow is being converted to rain on the way down. However, it is my understanding that snow does not carry enough moisture to convert to a rain drop. But it is happening. I have seen a lot of strange weather in my day but I have never seen anything like this.

It is actually rain that cannot make up its mind. Part of that Global Warming thing.

I just came in from the center of the universe (Toronto) and drove through every kind of crummy winter weather imaginable... Bruce you and Al Gore need to get this straightened out one way or another. Confused

I'll discuss it with him later on this evening. He is suppose to call when he returns home from his whirlwind of St. Joachim

It's actually not that uncommon here in southwest Ontario Rodney.
It's called a "Winter Mix" of rain and snow, often transmutting to freezing rain at some point, but luckily not today thanks to the south wind. If during the course of that mix the wind had shifted out of the WNW, then yup, freezing rain. If there hadn't had been a south wind at all, or the temps hadn't risen as as much as it had today, then it likely would have just been snow for precipitation today.

Course in Petrolia it was probably partially sunny today. ROTFL

Interesting weather we got here, eh? LOL

Meterology is kind of a hobby of mine, but then again a lot of things are. I like to study up on stuff that interests me, and the unique nature of the weather here piqued my curiosity when I first moved here about 15 years ago.
