pickled eggs? |

Does anyone else put hot peppers in the jar?
I usually throw in half a scotch bonnet and a jalapeno per jar. Plus a couple jars that arn't hot for the wife.

all that I do, is put the eggs in salted cold water and turn the burner on high, when it comes to a hard boil, shut it off and leave it covered for 15 minuits. after 15 min remove and dump them into running cold water until they are cold. while they are cooling, mix 1 part vinegar to 1 part water, start boiling, salt and pepper to taste, a tablespoon or two of pickling spice (depending on the size of the batch, for the four jars I used 1.5 tbsp). Throw a jalapeno or two into the jar and a half of a scotch bonnet into the bottom of the jar. Put the eggs into the jars onions, a clove of garlic and pour the hot vinegar mix into the jar. Close them up leave them for a week or two and enjoy. If you dont like hot food, leave the peppers out

I have always just put my boiled eggs into the empty pickle jars with the pickle juice still in them after the last pickle comes out, taste great after a week.

I have done that once or twice, usually save those ones for after a few beers. I prefer fresh spices
